FAQ #19: What was Denmark's Party of the Century?

Well, in my opinion the Party of the Century was the one I went to on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1999. It wasn't a "real" New Year's Eve party. Instead it was a Danish style 60th birthday party for a Danish Gentleman (Nils Jørgen Heiden) born on December 31, 1939.

So that family and non-Danish friends understand, someday I'll describe the "typical" 60th birthday party over here. But I'm kinda pressed for time right now so let me just note that they normally are a multi-course meal served over several hours in which there are numerous short speeches by family and friends. We had that, and then some. A LOT more than just a multi-course meal was enjoyed by all.
